The Galapagos Islands is an archipelago situated off the north
coast of Peru. These remote islands are world-famous for their
tropical birds
and unique wildlife. Giant tortoises, Galapagos fur sea lions, marine iguanas and
blue-footed boobies are some of the many unique animals that can be
seen in the Galapagos Islands.
Bird watchers can enjoy flamingos, pintail ducks, common stilts,
herons and sandpipers in the Galapagos Islands.
The only islands in the Galapagos archipelago to allow cars are Santa Cruz,
San Cristobal, Floreana and Isabela. Most flights to the Galapagos Islands depart from
Quito Equador which is north of Lima Peru.
